I accidentally riveted the instruction booklet for my rivet gun shut, and now I have no way to figure out how this tool works. What do?

cordless drills are good for completely fucking this up, also good for completley fucking up unrelated adjacent things.

Rivet the same spot on the other side. The rivets will cancel each other out and you should be able to open it again.

Light the book on fire. The paper will burn away leaving the rivet intact

So you’re saying I should buy a tungsten carbide bit and attempt to drill out the center of the rivet until I can fit a de-riveter inside? That sounds dangerous

That’s exactly what I want

Considering you successfully riveted it shut, you shouldn’t need the instructions anymore.

Hang the booklet on the back fence. Take your .38 revolver or similar home invasion management tool. Stand back approximately five feet and, using a wadcutter round (specially designed to cut paper), fire at the rivet. Provided your aim is adequate, the wadcutter should have neatly removed the rivet. You could use a normal round but you risk tearing the paper or generating dangerous shrapnel.
